What Is Cryopexy (Retinal Freezing Treatment)?
A cryoprobe cooled to -60 to -80°C is applied to the sclera over the retinal tear. The freeze- thaw cycle creates an inflammatory response that forms adhesive scar tissue, firmly bonding the retina to the underlying tissue around the tear.
